Ribbit vs. Google Voice
Just got my Ribbit Beta account. Looks purty so far. It's amusing how Ribbit is approaching it's website in an almost "Google-like" fashion considering that Google voice is the competition. I actually found this tidbit on Lifehacker so we'll see how it turns out. So far, I got free business cards from Google voice which is the only thing really making me prefer Google Voice @ this time :) LOL. Anyways, more to come...

Wow. It's my yearly post. Just plain sad.
That's the problem with these social sites and blogs. There are too damn many of them. How can you manage twitter, facebook, myspace, LinkedIn, Flickr, and stil have a life full of special goodness. Right now, I would rather be reading or maybe studying up on some things related to work. Or maybe I would rather be on my turntables trying to concoct the perfect beat juggle. Or maybe I would rather be geeking away at setting up a HTPC using a NVIDIA ION chipset (very cool btw). Or maybe I would rather be making tamales with my friends (muy dificil!). Or maybe I would rather be mucking around with my Flip Video attempting to invoke my inner auteur. Oh, the choices are limitless and to think that we have to spend at least a 1/12th or an 1/8th of our day managing these stupid online interaction thingamajigees is insanity. I think we're at the point of watching all these online social interaction sites implode on themselves leaving us at a black screen with a DOS prompt. C:>_ Much, much easier.

Happy New Year and stuff
Well, to say I've been rather lazy is an understatement. The world is a lot different than when I last posted. A new president, a hemmoraging economy, and flat out panic in the world we live in is the new world order. How quaint. Moving on...

Bear Stearns - Holy Sheeit.
Over the weekend I caught word that Bear Stearns was up for a fire sale... $2 a share. That's insane considering that the value of the shares were priced around the high 80's at the beginning of this year. The feds are also offering discount loan rates to investment banks that it usually reserves for "Traditional" bank institutions. We're headed for a recession, there is just no denying that. The question should be: "How long will we be in this recession?" The Japanese have been in this non-growth funk for the longest time. Is this our final curtain call? Jesus.

A short list of things to do:
- Set up VG 200 Gateway
- How should the gateway be set up? What is the simplest configuration to use?
- Is the most recent version of IOS installed on the gateway?
- Emulate CVOICE Lab
- Set up IP PBX
- Set up AsterixNow. Why is the IP address inaccessible?
- Is it worth trying to install Asterix on the Linksys router via OpenWRT?
- Set CVOICE Timeline
- Dial Peer Configuration
- Test exams (www.net130.com )
